Heidar Helguson

Heidar Helguson is available and apparently Watford are favourites to land him, good experience player who would add some quality up front. Would certainly be worth a punt especially if it meant Watford didnt get him :D

Whats incorrect ? Its reported that he is available and Watford are currently favourites to sign him , you can check on Sky and they are usually pretty good with their rumours.

Check the bold bits - "good" & "quality". He has been neither at QPR.

LOL

Helguson is the exact opposite of a player who would fit into our new style.

If you looked closely, wonderboy, I highlighted certain parts and it is this that are incorrect. I have no doubt he's free or that Watford are favourites, however I would disupte that Sky are good with rumours

Sorry have to disagree he is a good quality player and has shown that in the past, certainly playing in the championship his scoring record was good and I would think his style of play would fit into our new style better than Rasiak.

How?

Rasiak is far superior to Helguson in terms of technique with ball at feet. Helguson is good in the air and not much else.

I'm wouldn't agree with you on that, I'd say he was just as good a ball player and more able to play as a lone striker in the mould that Brendan has set out. Certainly has a better turn of pace than Rasiak and a decent goalscoring record in the championship and premiership.

I seem to remember him being considered a flop pretty much everywhere he's been...

There are few worse strikers in the CCC than Helguson.

I'm with Bath Hoops here.

Helguson is a better player with his back to goal and a more physical presence to play as the lone forward in a 4-3-3. I still wouldn't take him though, not now we've got Rasiak, as he's past his best and although we still need a bit of experience I don't think he's the man for us.

What's the point in discussing this - BR is not going to suddenly decide to sign him is he?
