Ian Royal What's the point in a discussion board if you can't have a reasonable discussion...?

What are you doing on Hob Nob then?

I'm not being unreasonable. I have a differing viewpoint and am expressing it. That's all.

Can't have much of a discussion without differing viewpoints and at least two opposing arguments.

I was actually implying it's impossible to have a reasonable discussion on Hob Nob, but never mind.

The FA Cup is dead? A shame the rest of the country won't be able to appreciate what a great game for the neutral it must have been thanks to ITV's shabby highlights. Superb advert for the Championship.

Seen a bit of history with Reading's fastest ever goal...from Jimmy Kebe . To be fair to Kebe I thought 1st half he looked quite dangerous, except for the few typical Kebe moments. One thing I've noticed since McDermott has come in is his willingness to track back and help out Berti which is quite pleasing.

I thought Karacan was a bit lost in the first half seemed to be chasing Dorrans' shadow but I thought he improved in the 2nd and did well until he was subbed.

Griffin - superb. Signing of the season? Quite possibly. He was absolutely magnificent again.

Two big and very tricky away games coming up before the replay but we should fear no-one.

URZ!

Kebe did great for the goal picked the full backs pocket and a good finish, after that looked dangerous but keept coming inside on to his right foot making the left backs job easy. There first goal was soft to easy. The second in fairness was well worked and a good strike I wouldn't blame anyone it was just a shame they never looked like scoring until then. A cracking game I still think we can win up there.

Anyone knows when Sig is coming back? Despite better performances by Kebe last night, I still think we lack creativity and its obvious that we need him for the next few matches.

Sigurdsson seems to have a Murty type injury which just goes on and on with no seeming resolution. According to the media for the last few weeks he has a foot problem and will hopefully be available for the next game but never is...

As said previously an excellent game really showcasing the Championsip only let down by the bloody disgusting coverage from ITV.

Griffin is absolute class and needs to be baought in the summer if we can come to an arrangement with the player on salary. So that's unlikely to happen then!

Such a shame WBA went and fluked an equaliser with practically their only serious attack in the last 20 minutes or so but then that's football and probably means out FA Cup run will end quietly in the West Midlands in 10 days or so. Sad but I'd still rather have league points than FA Cup glory.

Unfortunately,

Griffin = White
Kebe = Black
A significant proportion of Reading fans = Racists

Are you serious? Kebe's only issue of sorts is that he needs to work on his crossing.

When he's on the ball, I get the feeling that the only person capable of tackling him is himself. Just pass the ball to him and let him run at a 1,000mph towards goal and that's all you need from him. Look at the first half of last season for further proof. The man was on FIRE

LoyalRoyalFan I must laugh though at the West Brom fans who thought that they were the loudest team ever to come to the Madejski. 4,000 of them and they barely made much noise.

Agreed, massive numbers - loud outside the ground but complete fair weather fans inside and when things weren't going well for them.

I thought karacan and howard were really poor today. Over-run most of the game and karacans lack of footballing ability really worries me.

Pretty much spot on IMO. "You're only here for the Albion"? Get over yourself you bunch of spastic-speaking bastards, you're not even the biggest team in the Midlands!!

Karacan reminds me of Phil Parkinson in some respects - excellent at winning the ball back but the passing ability of a thalidomide victim. Bertrand was average once again, failing to do the obvious thing and show Chris Brunt onto his right foot for the first equaliser. Ingimarsson and Mills struggled up against Bednar, and Ingi's header which he completely missed proved to be critical.

Somewhat disappointed with West Brom. There appeared to be times when they just dropped off and showed a distinct lack of interest, but when they clicked into gear they dictated play.Reasonably impressed with Bednar, and Koren's 2nd was a cracking strike but, in all honesty, the amount of space the central midfield ball-carrier was given in the face of a constantly retreating defence was massively frustrating. Having gone 4-3-2 when West Brom were reduced to 10 men, when we took the lead I would have personally placed Church out right and gone 4-4-1, which would have given us the option of getting the extra man forward had we needed to. Two banks of four, play through us. If we do that, the 2nd equaliser probably doesn't arrive IMO as the extra defensive man may have given Griffin the opportunity to track Koren.

Oh well, The Hawthorns it is in 10-11 days. Two days after I start my new job. I hope they allow me to leave on time!!
I thought that by and large their fans were shite, especially if you think back to "Viking Day" etc. However, them singing "Go West Bromwich Albion" to the tune of Pet Shop Boys - Go West did make me LOL  10/10 for that one

Other than that wonder goal and his incredible speed, I thought that he was rather poor IMO. Most of the time he was trying to be smart and get pass Zuiverloon but was mostly blocked out. Of course, this post is only based on my opinion, I'm sure others would have different views on him based on last night performance.

rabidbee The thing that is most surprising about Kébé's goal is that he actually won a tackle in the build-up.

On their first goal, I think Fed expected the guy in the middle (Bednar) to get a head to it, and was already trying to react for the header from point-blank when it went straight through to the far post.

Church defo onside, Dirk.

Really annoying that nobody was marking Maddock.

Agreed with all of the above.I also thought Jay Tabb should have gotten a lot closer to Cox in the build-up to their second goal.

2 players were marking 1 WBA player and no one was marking Maddock. Tabb/Griffin should have been there. Oh well, bet we can win the replay!

I hadn't realised from the game but from watching it on tv, that both WBA goals were quite similar in that they both came from someone down the same side, totally unmarked. Sort it out, Brian!

Whatever happens in the future, Jimmy Kebe wil remain in the annals of Reading Football Club.

I look forward to seeing the clip on 'What Happened Next' in A Question of Sport.

cmonurz A chip that goes in = a good chip. A chip that hits the keeper = a shite finish.

Thats plain daft...it was a decent chip which Carson couldn't hold onto. Great run and good finish from Churchy.
