IcelandicStokie Fridays Legacy,
have you heard anything more on this?
I have it on very good authority that talks have been suspended for now - neither party willing to budge. Its 1m + add-ons versus 3.5m upfront. No middle ground whatsoever could be reached. Reading have more irons in the fire but could still be back in for Sigurdarson. Staying at Lilleström for the time being although few clubs have been asking about the player in the last few days.

No, nothing I'm afraid. If talks have been put on hold, that isn't surprising. Personal opinion only, but I can't see us spending such a vast sum on a relatively unproven player - though he does look very useful it has to be said. Nicky Hammond has made a successful career as a Director of Football for getting a bargain. Even though we might have slightly bigger budgets now we have Anton Zingarevich putting money in (assuming like January he has once again made funds available), the club still say they plan to remain prudent (or tight fisted, if you like) where possible. It's only my opinion of course, but getting much more money out of Reading will be like getting blood from a stone. I would hope we will go back with an improved offer, but it wont be anything like the £3.5m we're hearing Lillestrøm want (and apparently up front).

I am still of the opinion that Reading will get him probably later this summer for around the 2m mark.

Jesus. They were just relegated?
Seriously though, if we can't stump up £3M, how on earth are we to believe that TSI have any money whatsoever??? #VenkysII

as SC said you won't get a PL proven player really for £3m.
Hammond and co will of known what the asking price for him is and if they have got to the bidding stage then he is obviously proven to them.
I am not saying we automatically need to spend large sums of cash but for billionaires who want top ten PL and european football this is still perhaps on the cheap side!
£3M may seem like a lot but if the kids means the difference between staying in the prem another year and not then he is worth every penny.

HoneyRoastHoax Perhaps proven is the wrong word but he has passed the hammond mcdermott test of being a good enough player.
He has obviously proven himself to be a worthy signing to the club.
Church probably still wouldn't look good in the skandi league
