Johnson Hippolyte @TheRealDrax 3 Nov
Bit of a dilemma. Need to shake things up and bring in some new faces. But running out of mates who haven't played for Maidenhead United.
Waiting for a call from @ShortwoodUtdFC. They can't ignore a manager with my FA Cup pedigree for long.
Text from Greg Dyke: "We'd like you on the new FA commission, to invent excuses when the team doesn't perform." Sorry Greg, not my style.

Alan Partridge There is quite a bit of ill feeling around N Berks clubs towards the likes of Wantage and Abingdon Utd Ressies being in the system, if their players from the 1st/reserves turned up to play appleton then that says more about them than it does about the Appleton lads. Smash them 27-0 score 9 yeah well done.

..as I said there was certainly a chap listed as part of the first team Squad who scored a hat-trick on Sat.
The 'spirit' of the game is sadly not even prevalent around levels as low as my youngests' U-11's league. A team quite high up in his league were drawn against one from a much higher division in the Cup and were beaten 16-0 - must have been enjoyable?
The fellah in charge of my lad's team however - is a splendid example - he puts effort and behaviour above ability - probably the credo of this particular side at all levels. He never criticizes overtly from the touchline - some other 'coaches' at this level positively spit vitriol at their charges - horrendous - particularly when their own son is playing for the team.
Anyway - my lads' lot were 5-0 up at H/T last week in the Plate and he approached the other manager, who was struggling with no replacements available and offered to swap & mix the two sides around to make the game more enjoyable for all. Final result 6-2 and everyone came out of the game much happier I'm sure, than had one side run up double-figures?![]()

Popped along to a very soggy Stubbs Lane tonight to watch Binfield labour to a 1-0 win over WBT in the Hellenic Premier - goal in the last 20' from Jemal Johnson. Something's not quite right 'chez Moles' of late - missing a lot of their early season spark and have sunk to below midway.
Three points might fire them up a bit now following a run of poor results.- Vase tie ahead on Saturday at Brimscomb - if their pitch resurfaces from the River Frome in time!

floyd__streeteAthleticoSpizz Still above the drop zone (which is marginally better than normal)....no money..key players out with injuries and smallish crowds even for " the local derbies"
What do the fans and directors of Maidenhead really expect?
Fans - mostly, apart from one or two keyboard warriors - fully behind Drax for the reasons highlighted above. He is one of Maidenhead's very best managers ever, they could hardly hope to do better in that department. The chairman, Peter Griffin, luckily is a family guy who fully backs the manager.....can't see Drax leaving any time soon unless of his own volition of course.
Missed the game Saturday as thanks to Reading's diabolical traffic even in securing on the first bus from the stadium I missed the train by seconds so instead headed home to spend my York Road entrance fee on booze
