22 Oct 2019 11:03Entertainment value = utter dross. Nothing to do with the quality of our own performance which was decent on the day.URZZZZ wrote:It really wasn’t utter dross though. You can even see on the BFTG reports there was a lot of optimism after that gameOld Man Andrews wrote:It was still utter dross though which is the point JLow was making.URZZZZ wrote:Actually QPR away last season may have been one of our better games under Gomes. We passed, we moved and we created opportunities. Too bad we rarely showed that performance again
If you think that game was utter dross, then I hate to imagine what you think Gomes’ worst games in charge were

22 Oct 2019 16:00In David Downs "Biscuits & Royals" book there is a picture of our strip in 1871 and it is hoops, although they are very thin darker hoops,. As the fake hoops were not formed then, it seems like we are the ORIGINAL wearers. I understand that our strip is uncertain after that, but the book does show we we changed to Vertical stripes by 1907. with that and plain shirts in the mid to late fifties, perhaps they may have a claim to have worn hoops for a longer period (if they have always worn hoops, which I think is probable). So perhaps we can both claim victory in one way or another!paultheroyal wrote:No doubt it has been done to death - but is there hard proof, confirmed proof we are the original wearers of the hooped shirt?

22 Oct 2019 18:53I'm liking this.....a lot. These are proper positive changes and not tinkering like the last bloke seemed intent on doing.Royals and Racers wrote:3 changes Rino, Richards and Baldock start. Out Obita, Pele and Meite.

22 Oct 2019 19:03Seriously? There isnt a pub showing the game? That's poor.royalsteve wrote:Pubs in reading suck, can’t find any showing the game, which is why I boycott most pubs in reading. Complete joke.

22 Oct 2019 19:06Well I’ve tried poachers in sindlesham, seven red roses in Earley. Both are showing champions league football for the zero fans of those clubs that are currently in reading. Too many out of towns t..to run these pubs.NewCorkSeth wrote:Seriously? There isnt a pub showing the game? 22 Oct 2019 19:08Friend checked couple others, same result. It’s the big reason I don’t go to my local pubs anymore. 22 Oct 2019 19:08Yes the 1872 photo shows we wore blue and white hoops, many years before QPR were even formed. TBF to them I am not aware of them having anything other than hoops where we have had several changes, over the years.paultheroyal wrote:No doubt it has been done to death - but is there hard proof, confirmed proof we are the original wearers of the hooped shirt?
