Pretty poor performance to be honest with too much hoof ball but Blackpool absolutely toothless and DK was the stand out player on the pitch by a massive margin. Savage probably the pick of the rest - great ball to DK for the penalty. Defence good. You cannot argue with a clean sheet.

Doyle scored but generally poor and makes bad decisions. Thought Ehib was better today and gives his all but not really a central striker. Thought R Williams was good overall.

Despite what some are saying thought Ref did ok. Sky commentator very good and well informed.

Excellent win against a Blackpool side who looked every inch like a Steve Bruce team trying to play Ian Evatt football.

What’s noticeable to me (as per the Rotherham game) is the number of players we get into the opposition box when we break. Was a joy to see the 3rd goal with players queuing to score (miss)

Having a settled back 4 obviously helps but we look more organised back there. JP had to make a couple of saves but we’re not relying on “worldies” from him to keep us in it.

Plenty of work still needed but also plenty of cause for optimism.

Thought I'd have a quick look on here to enjoy all of the praise for Kyerewaa for his outstanding performance and attitude.

It's a bit muted. Perhaps humble pie isn't to everyone's taste.

Wasn't able to watch the match. Glad he did well, hopefully he keeps up his improvement. Doing it consistently is the key.

Crowing after one game is though apparently.

As I’ve already said he was excellent today and as Orion has said if he can maintain that then excellent he’ll be fulfilling his potential.

Think DK could turn out to be an inspired signing. He was raw at the start of the season but the improvement in recent weeks has been great to see. Sadly many of our other summer signings have been disappointing so far in comparison.

It's starting to look like Richardson's more direct approach is more effective for some players, like DK and Kelvin E.

DK finally getting the ball at his feet and really running at defenders, reminds me of Kebe just as he started to come good.

Kelvin E really putting his body about a lot more now. Not afraid to be physical, winning headers, pressuring defenders etc.

Yes DK looks like a gem of a signing, expect he could be another Azeez in time.

I wonder if he'll be better suited to away games where there is more space on the break and it's easier to isolate him 1 on 1 against the defender. Needs a different set of skills against a team sitting deep and doubling up on him.

After that early big miss from Blackpool I thought we played ok and deserved the win.
Danny K , albeit up against what looked to be the worst right-back in the division, had a game to remember and was involved in all 3 goals.

So , on possession stats it was almost a reversal of last Saturday and amazingly (?) we won, once again showing that possession of the ball, especially by central defenders, doesn't win you football matches.

Players should get a lift from the result and hopefully can kick on

Several of our signings have been decent: O'Connor, Williams and Marriott the pick of the bunch. I think Lane has been decent as well so far. and I have no complaints with Ritchie.

When we last did a big changeover of staff in a summer (2023-24), how many of the new players were immediately good?

Given the size of the job required, it was always going to take time.

Weird attitude

He was playing shite - but it was clear he could play a bit

He now has a couple of good games and people say he’s played well

Which is totally fair

I don’t think DK is particularly raw as such. He isn’t especially young

Don’t think he understood his role before and lost his confidence. Now he’s trying things and taking people on and he looks so much better. Also seems to link well with Kelvin

DandyRoyal Good stuff, albeit against a terrible Blackpool.

We've got a solid spine in the GK, CBs, and the central midfielders; they are high quality in this league. If they can all stay fit, we'll concede less moving forward. Looking forward to Rino being integrated more and more situationally depending on the opposition.

The big question mark is the front 4 and the full backs. Today the front 4 delivered - whether they can do that consistently remains to be seen. The full backs did fine today, but it's clearly a highly contested position - who is our best RB/LB? I don't know, and I don't think Leam knows yet either.

COYR.

I don’t think the question matters in terms of fullback.

Yiadom, Abrefa, Dorsett and Jacob are all a similar level - which is good enough for L1. Yiadom brings quality as a sub, while Dorsett and Abrefa will continue to improve with playing games. With Ahmed and Ryan in the wings.

First touch and passing improved today to combine with his tempo, and commitment.

Both things likely to improve with time and games.

It's almost like we bought him as a player with raw potential, and with experience he's maturing and improving.

He may not be that young, but he hasn’t played much proper senior football.

Not like it’s been a gradual improvement though. I’m still going with crediting the management and coaching for this one and it being more mental than anything else

A good performance; we didn’t seem to have a lot of the ball but when we got it, we used it better than we have been doing. Nice to see some width and people getting forward, as well as some understanding developing in little partnerships all over the pitch. The players who we needed to see improved performances from turned up today, though by no means are the finished article - we still look a bit messy centrally and Kelvin remains a frustrating watch (he just looks so sluggish, slow to react and low effort).

Doyle made a decent argument for the 2-1 central midfield shape meaning I’m less confident about inverting it, and I thought Randal Williams looked a good player. Was great to get an away win, and even better to do so with a high score line - three goals in one game somewhat tempers the fear that we might be incapable of creating and putting away chances. An obvious shout out to Danny K who was absolutely superb.

I think something is happening here, which is a relief. But it’s all about the next game.

I think the 3 centre half system Blackpool played suited him too. In the key moments he was 1 on 1 with a right sided centre half rather than a full back.
